Pilgrimage is the operative word for the seventh World Christian gathering of Indigenous Peoples. We enter the land where the Redeemer of creation lived and died so that all creation might be set on the path toward wholeness lost to it near its beginning.

Here, in the land of the Bible, in the ultimate act of indigeneity, the "Unmade Maker" took on a distinct human identity in a pre-ordained place and time - the identity of a Jew in the land of Judah. Fulfilling the history, prophecies and customs of the people, He made the way for all people to be in right relationship with the Creator and right relatedness to all of creation. This includes indigenous peoples, their lands and their aspirations for justice... For you see, many indigenous followers of Jesus, who went before the contributors to this journal, wrestled with precisely the same issues and concerns: justice, dignity, relationship, welcome and a theology rooted in a more holistic worldview - their worldview.
