Placed into the Presence of Jesus: Sermons Preached at First Mennonite Church, Kitchener, Ontario

With very few exceptions, men and women have gathered at 800 King St. E. every Sunday morning since 1813 as the congregation of First Mennonite Church, Kitchener, to worship and hear the Word of God proclaimed. Significant passages of life - child dedications, baptisms, weddings, final tearful gatherings before loved ones have been carried to the cemetery behind the Church building - have all been accompanied by singing, Scripture reading and the spoken word. Preachers have come and gone, as have the congregants. Always new faces have come to carry on the task of being God's people in this place. This book is offered in the memory of all those sermons preached in the past and to the anticipation of those yet to be proclaimed.
