The Vision statement, first adopted in 1995 - and now available in thirteen languages - is intended to provide focus and energy to the Mennonite church in North America. The vision statement builds on the distinctive emphases of Mennonite faith - following the example and teachings of Jesus, being nurtured in faith communities, and being peacemakers and reconcilers - while calling us to discover a new intimacy with God, to experience grace and joyful celebration in our communities, and to seek healing and hope for ourselves, our churches and our broken world.
The Statement of Identity and Purpose was approved at the 2005 Assembly for Mennonite Church Canada. It is the description of Mennonite Church Canada and provides additional guidance for the purpose and function of this organization.

In forty of Mennonite Church Canada's 225 congregations, English is not the first language of worship. If you belong to one or more of these 13 language groups, you will find helpful the translations of the "Statement of Identity and Purpose" as well as Mennonite Church Canada's "Healing and Hope" Vision Statement. Even if your primary worship language is English, you may wish to obtain these statements in another language to assist you in ministry to smaller groups of people in your congregation.
