Walking Together

”Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”  Jeremiah 6:16 (NIV).

Walking Together: We Are All Treaty People

October / November 2020

Kanata Baptist Church and Bilberry Creek Baptist Church have worked together to bring this conference to Eastern Ontario. It is our prayer that this conference will help educate non-indigenous people about the past and be one step in the reconciliation journey. This is the first such conference for Eastern Ontario, and it will be the fifth such conference in Ontario sponsored by Canadian Baptists of Ontario & Quebec, and Canadian Baptist Ministries. This event is also supported by Canadian Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec as well as the Ottawa Baptist Association. While we cannot change the past, we can learn from it and we can affect the future.

Keynote speakers are: Dr. Cheryl Bear, Sarah Beardy, Dr. John Borrows, Albert Dumont, Jonathan Maracle, Dr. Alan Ojiig Corbiere, and former Grand Chief Dr. Matthew Coon Come. Visit the Keynote Speakers page to learn more about them.

We invite you to prayerfully consider joining us as we listen and learn from regional and national indigenous leaders.

"Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?" Amos 3:3
