Reconciliation

Reconciliation is the long-term process by which all parties to a dispute (not just one party or individual as in the act of forgiveness) build trust, learn to live cooperatively, and create a stable peace. It can happen at the individual level, the community level, and the national level.  For our purposes, this also includes conflict transformation, conflict resolution, and conflict management resources.

For resources on forgiveness and the process toward forgiveness, see Forgiveness.

For matters relating to Indigenous-Settler relations, see Decolonization, Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples, Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, and United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigneous Peoples.

For matters relating to conflict in a congregation, see Managing Congregational Conflict.

For theological resources on peacemaking and nonviolence, see Peace Theology.

For legal applications, see Restorative Justice.
