Bethesda: Come to the Water: A Bible Study for Women

Book, 2015, 86 pp

Bethesda: Come to the Water arose from a deep, shared need. Invisible wounds, though hidden and buried deep, still cause harm to us and to our relationships. Jesus longs to heal us in these hidden places. He asks us the same question that he asked the paralyzed man at the pool of Bethesda: "Do you want to get well?"

This Bible study resource for small groups is especially designed for women who have suffered abuse or who are hurting in other ways and invites them to actively participate with God in the process of restoration and healing. Plans are provided for ten biblically based sessions, selected to address a foundational Christian concept relevant to the experience of abuse and other forms of emotional pain.

The sessions use Bible study, reflection, writing, prayer, and art to engage people in active participation with God on a journey of restoration and healing. Also valuable for personal use, each session includes a creative, experiential learning activity to engage group members at different levels and in different ways.
