Take Two Tablets: The Ten Commandments

Today's youth, practical as they are, are not likely to hang their hats on the ten commandments just because they're in the Bible, or even because they are a time-tested ethical code. They will want to know how the ten commandments can benefit them and society. This unit will help them see how the gift of the "ten words" is not some obsolete set of arbitrary rules from a divine naysayer. The ten commandments set us on the road to a life that works. Without these rules, it is difficult to imagine how people can live together. They're more than "don'ts." They make it possible to do.
