Mantras, Menorahs and Minarets: Encountering Other Faiths

Contrary to what might be expected, the study of the world religions rarely "weakens" a Christians' commitment to Christ as Lord. Rather, it can give us a new appreciation for the uniqueness of Jesus. This encounter with other faiths will follow this basic outline: The Religions: The "God question" encounters revelation; Hinduism: Karma encounters grace; Buddhism: "Suffering escaped" encounters "suffering transformed"; Judaism: Christianity encounters its roots; Islam: Absolute certainty encounters a growing faith.
