As youth grow older, have more freedoms, and become more accountable for their actions, they begin to experience the dual-sidedness of this coin - freedom brings responsibility.

In letters to the early church, Paul contrasts the restrictions of living under the law with freedom in Christ. Freedom, however, is accompanied by the responsibility to live as Christ's disciples. In the end, we're really only free to choose to whom we will be bound. Christians must find the balance between freedom and responsibility - when to hang loose and when to hold tight. This unit helps youth work through these seeming contrasts. The sessions look at freedom and responsibility in each of the following issues: school, family and parents, sex, money and church and religion.
