Our Heritage: Remembrances of my life in Russia 1866-1895: From the Diary of Katharina (Wiens) Bahnmann Dyck Regier

Book, 1997, 281 pp
This book contains a translation of the diary/memoirs of Mrs. Katharina Regier (1859-1936), who was born Berdjansk, South Russia to grain merchants, Nikolai and Margaretha Wiens, and died in Laird, Saskatchewan in 1936. She first married Heinrich P. Bahnman (1852-1906) in 1877 and lived for a little while in the village of Rudnerweide, Molotschna, then back to Berdjansk, a port on the Black Sea, and still later to a land estate at Schoenfeld, before immigrating to the United States in 1903. In 1904 they moved to homestead northeast of Waldheim, Saskatchewan, about 30 miles north of Saskatoon. This is where her first husband died in 1906. In 1912 she married Abraham Dyck. She became widowed again, and married Elder (bishop) Peter Regier of Tiefengrund in 1916. This book contains her recollections of life in Russia. Photos and genealogical information are also included.
