On January 28, 2010 a small group of Canadians, hosted by the Peacebuilders Community in Mindanao, visited the B'laan People on Mount Matutum for one afternoon.

We were awed by the beauty of the place and the warm welcome of the people. Their children delighted us with their songs and laughter. We were served fresh brewed Civet Coffee, hot Cassava and Sweet Potato on banana leaves. Their indigenous architecture, using the material of the forest, created shelters of wood and natural materials which have the appearance of being woven into the landscape. We were privileged to meet with the B'laan, and Pastor Fred, in their church and to listen to their dreams for the development of their community and the education of their children.

This book is intended to support the dreams of a beautiful and gracious people gifted with one of the greatest of all human resources: hope for the future.
