Letters from China

A long-time activist in the women's movement and teacher of English as a second language, the author had for years been actively interested in China. In the spring of 1980, she was selected by the Canadian External Affairs Department to teach at Sichuan University. Letters to friends, associates, and family, along with diary excerpts and narrative commentary, portray a vivid picture of the day-to-day adventures and experiences of a Canadian 'foreign expert' in China.
