Watch Jesus Wide-Eyed: Film Clips and the Gospel Texts: Advent-Pentecost, Year B
by Henry Krause
2008, 11 pp
The author has gathered film clips and movies that give a window into the Gospel readings from
Advent through Pentecost using the Revised Common Lectionary Year B. Some tell a story similar to
the Gospel narratives, some are a contrast to them and some are stories that provide another way to
understand the themes that emerge in the readings. The intention is to allow the film or film clip to
stand on its own and tell its story as a parallel story to the one found in the Gospels. Some references
that have been collected give information on how to find the exact clip while others give more general
information about a part of the film that could be referred to or described.
The intention with the selections chosen is to focus on ones that can walk along side an Anabaptist understanding of the Gospel readings (the gospel of Mark in Year B).
