Maundy Thursday Play - Following Jesus to the Cross

This is an active worship service where we walk from scene to scene, following Jesus and his disciples hours before the crucifixion. We begin at the last supper (and have a simple meal together) and end at the foot of the cross. We will move to 4 locations within the church building. At each location, various scenes will be portrayed by actors, often persons simply stepping out of the crowd to become their characters. All of us as crowd members become an active part of these scenes. We will listen and speak and sing and walk this journey with Jesus. We will also literally carry the cross from scene to scene. One disciple, Andrew, will act as a guide and narrator – setting the scene, giving instructions, leading the singing and leading us from location to location.
