Mennonites Everywhere: Zahara Kwaje Ali

2012, 1 min
Zahara came to Canada in 1993 from South Sudan. She was welcomed into Peace Mennonite Church (Regina) where she is an active volunteer and serves as a deacon. As a refugee from a highly conflicted country, Zahara especially appreciates the Anabaptist/Mennonite teaching on non-violent conflict resolution. You don't have to have a certain kind of surname, eat specific ethnic foods, or dress a certain way to belong to a Mennonite church.
