Reclaiming Biblical Lament: Webinar Presentation

We had a fascinating discussion today with Bob Yoder as he talked about engaging the practice of biblical lament to create spaces for our youth to name and be honest about the losses in their lives, both personal and on a global scale. Bob has found the practice of using biblical lament to frame these reflections to be helpful in providing tools and room for our youth to slow down, step back, and honestly share their questions and doubts. The use of lament is also a helpful way for adults to share their own faith journey and how they made it or are making it through. Above all, lament reinforces that God allows opportunities for our questions and doubts, fears and frustrations, and in the end, reminds us of the deep fidelity and love of the One that never leaves or abandons.
