All Power is Rooted in Land:
Manitoba Youth for Climate Action
The youth climate strikers have seven demands for our leaders. The first one is to centre and respect the inherent and treaty rights of Indigenous peoples in all climate change mitigation efforts. This includes adopting and implementing the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
What does that mean? And what does this have to do with climate justice? We asked some of the people who know the declaration best—Romeo Saganash and Leah Gazan.
