2009 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: One in Your Hand

This year's Week of Prayer is rooted in the experience of the churches in Korea. In their context of national division, (North & South) the churches have turned for inspiration to the prophet Ezekiel, who also lived in a tragically divided nation and longed for the unity of his people.

This years scripture is based on Ezekiel's second vision. (Ezekiel 37:15-23) The theme of hope is expressed in another text dear to the churches in Korea. Revelation 21:3-4. These biblical themes have inspired the Korean churches in offering these material for 2009: unity as intended for God's people: unity as God's gift, but requiring conversion and renewal; unity as a new creation; and the hope that God's people may yet be one.

The materials include a preparation guide, Bible study approaches, activities for children and youth, hymn suggestions, eight days of biblical reflections, an order of worship.
