Rowan Williams argues that the heart of Anglicanism is entwined with shaping holy lives. Benedict describes a monastic community as a "workshop using tools left by Jesus Christ." Williams says that in a holy life we learn to handle objects and holiness comes naturally, "like a tool that becomes an extension of a hand," or like the ease of a priest celebrating Mass or a musician playing an instrument. Benedict stresses the stability of the community in God's workshop.
