Je me souviens: 2010 Peace Sunday Packet
2010, 20 pp
On Remembrance Day our country invites us to reflect on the sacrifice of soldiers
who have fought and died in the course of military service to Canada, and to
honour those who are currently serving with the Canadian Forces in Afghanistan.
Mennonite Central Committee encourages Canadian Anabaptist churches — as
historic peace churches — to observe Peace Sunday just prior to Remembrance
Day. Peace Sunday is an annual occasion to preach, teach and reflect upon the
gospel of peace and to offer a witness against war and violence. It is a time to
remind one another that our allegiance is to the God of peace and to Christ who
is our peace.
This Peace Sunday Packet is a resource to assist your congregation in preparing for Peace Sunday. This year’s packet has been prepared by MCC staff in Québec. Written with the Quebéc context in mind, it is offered to Anabaptist churches across the country in both French and English.
