Church Matters Podcast: Episode 45: China's Transforming Church, Part 2 of 2
Guest: Jeanette Hanson, Mennonite Church Canada Witness Worker in China

PART OF SERIES Church Matters Podcast
2010, 15 min
Jeanette Hanson, a long-term international church worker in China with Mennonite Church Canada says that Christians in China have never experienced as much freedom as they have today, yet Christians comprise no more than 1-2% of China’s population. In some areas of China, there may be only one trained church leader for every ten-thousand Christians. The church is challenged with finding its place in a society that permits religious freedom yet has laws that make it difficult for people to worship together.

In the midst of this complexity, principles of Anabaptist theology are taking root and forming missional congregations through China Vision, a growing network between existing pastors and church leaders. Focus is shifting from building the church to building the Kingdom of God. China Vision is transforming lives by modeling Christ’s love through increased involvement in communities beyond the church.
