2011 Ministry Highlights: 67 Things Mennonite Church Canada Does
ed. Deborah Froese
2011, 6 pp
“What do you do, anyway?”
It’s a common question asked of Mennonite Church Canada. This at-a-glance look at a typical year (in this case 2011) in the life and ministry of your national church is a response to that question.
Through five Area Churches, over 220 congregations and the hands of thousands, Mennonite Church Canada ministries shape a people of God who spread the good news of God’s all-encompassing shalom across the street and around the world. More than simply a wish for “peace,” shalom embraces the breadth of Anabaptist theology and the vision of Mennonite Church Canada. It brings healing and hope by fostering harmony with God, with self, with others and with creation.
Just how wide is Mennonite Church Canada’s circle of influence? Together, we minister in 26 countries including Canada. Through evangelism and church planting, education and leadership training, peace and conflict resolution training, community development, and ministry partnerships, we are growing relationships for God’s holistic vision of shalom inside the church and beyond.
We invite you to join us in celebration of all the ministry we do together. By sharing your precious space with us, you help us to find the prayer and financial support that enables us to grow God’s church together.
Please consider sharing excerpts from this summary to report on our shared activities in church - at your annual congregational meeting, your bulletin boards, church newsletters, and Sunday morning bulletins.
