Sacred Journeys: A Woman's Book of Daily Prayer

Using the church's liturgical Year as a framework, Sacred Journeys has five sections:

• Birthing the Holy: The Season of Advent and Christmas
• Wisdom's Journey: Epiphany and the Season Following
• Remembering Our Wounds: The Season of Lent
• Women in Community: The Season from Easter to Pentecost
• Living the Rhythms: Ordinary Time

Each week provides an invocation, the biblical text, the context of the scripture, daily readings, questions for reflection, a meditation, and a blessing. Linking contemporary women with women across the ages, the daily readings offer a rich diversity of voices including Annie Dillard, Madeleine L'Engle, Etty Hillesum, Chung Hyun Kyung, Wendy M. Wright, Sojourner Truth, Miriam Therese Winter, Hildegard of Bingen, and Julia Esquivel. Introductions and prayers accompany the seasonal transitions, keeping readers mindful of experiences of the holy in everyday life.
