This film examines the importance of food in three areas of religious life: building and strengthening the religious community; honouring the notion of God's earth and its abundance; and as a way of reaching out to others.

The Reverent Daniel Sack, author of Whitebread Protestants: Food and Religion in American Culture, gives an overview of food as a tool in community building, from potluck suppers and feeding the homeless, to the meal central to the Christian faith, the Last Supper. The authors of The Good Book Cookbook comment on food in Bible times. A Mennonite couple in Pennsylvania explain their vision for their organic farm, and how it relates to their local community.
