The text I’d like to explore with you today is that dangerous word in John 2 – Jesus’ promise to bring about a new temple and a new world for the oppressed. It’s a trickster Scripture, and I thought a good way to engage it would be through a story... because a tale might stoke our imaginations better than a prescriptive list of how to’s.
