But Conrad Stoesz, Archivist at the Mennonite Heritage Archives, says Conscientious Objection to war is an often and conveniently overlooked part of our complex history as Christians and Canadians that extends beyond Mennonite beliefs and practices. Stoesz says this part of Canadian history is about to be lost – which is why as he is leading the production of a documentary film on the history of Canada’s provisions for alternative service to war.
