The Most Excellent Dying of Theodore Jack Heckelman
When faced with cancer, Jack made a decision to die with gratitude and consciousness. This heartwarming documentary of what Jack called "my last great adventure" includes touching footage of his community and family support, of his casket being made by a beloved niece, of family and friends gathering during his last weeks and hours for singing and farewells, and caring for him after death in a three-day vigil at home.
It was Jack's wish that this film be his legacy of hope and encouragement for all people, to empower them with choices for their own dying, and to know that there can be a warm, natural and accepting mood around the threshold of death, and yes, there can even be an excellent dying.
