This guide is born out of a profound desire to faithfully integrate an excluded group of people back into the life of their churches and families. We hope it will embolden Hispanic churches to follow the mission Christ gives to them — that of welcome and hospitality.
LGBT people are found in our churches and in our Latina/o families, but often they have to hide their real sexual and gender identities. They often feel they cannot share that they are romantically attracted to persons of the same gender. Or maybe the gender they were assigned at birth does not reflect their true gender identity.
In this guide we seek to hear the voices of those often excluded from our Christian churches by tuning our ears so as to hear their testimonies.
