This book is the result of many hours of work by the children in the grades 4, 5, and 6 classes at École Laura Secord School in Winnipeg. The educators devised a strategy for the students to reword the Truth and Reconciliation's (TRC's) 94 Calls to Action in language they could understand.

Canada's work of reconciliation is vital and, if we are going to be successful, we all need to understand the task that lies before us. We need to educate ourselves about the problems in our society and apply ourselves to implementing the solutions proposed by the TRC if we are to address the wrongs Canadian society has brought to Turtle Island. This book is offered as a tool for that journey. -- from the Foreward

This book will assist all ages to further facilitate understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Calls to Action.

"Our students and staff are learning that we need to educate ourselves about the problems in our society and that we must do the work necessary to implement the solutions proposed by the TRC. This book started out as a much smaller project to make it easier for young people to fully understand what the TRC Calls to Action meant, and it has grown as we’ve learned more, and recognized the need for understanding among a much larger audience.” -- Rhona Churman, Principal, École Laura Secord School
