A paper presented by the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada Indigenous-Settler Relations Working Group (including MC Canada's ISR Director, Steve Heinrichs) at NAIITS in June 2020.
The Indigenous-Settler Relations Working Group, convened by the EFC in 2019, recognizes in the Reconciliation Proclamation seeds of catalyzing and life changing relationship infused by the Holy Spirit and sown in the fertile soil of commitment and trust.2 Sadly, we also recognize that those seeds have not been nurtured or attended to with sufficient care. As representatives of the evangelical community in Canada, we commit to picking up the tools needed to humbly do the work required to serve the fertile ground that they may bear good fruit.
