Promoting Peace: Lebanon

Rayan Dabagh, a Sunni Muslim, and Jessica Tawk, a Christian, two youth of different religious beliefs, let go of their fear of approaching and communicating with people who practice a different religion. Both participated in a project called Breathing Peace to Gather, a peacebuilding initiative in Lebanon which was carried out by Cross Arts Cultural Association.

This initiative was part of Promoting Religious Tolerance and Mutual Understanding within and between Faiths in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iraq, a three-year project funded by the European Union and implemented by Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and Development for People and Nature Association (DPNA), which involved 17 civil society organizations. Nearly 8,000 people participated, including 2,600 youth.
