Lord, Hear Our Prayers: Domestic Violence Worship Resources

Lord, Hear Our Prayers has been compiled as an encouragement for Mennonite and Brethren in Christ congregations to set aside one Sunday in the year to acknowledge the tragedy of family violence and sexual abuse in our midst.

This resource is designed to help break the silence in worship settings. They are not inteded to be used as an indepth educational resource.

At the conclusion of this packet there is a further listing of organizations and resources to assist in this task.

All resources may be photocopied with the exception of the hymns.

The church can be a safe place for survivors of abuse, it can be a place of healing and hope for both survivors and perpetrators. Acknowledging our pain in the "temple" as the psalmist does is the first step in the long journey toward healing.
