Guiding Ministerial Leadership in Mennonite Church Canada : (GMLC)
ed. Joint Council
2024, 106 pp
The Joint Council on October 5, 2024 approved the policy Guiding Ministerial Leadership in Mennonite Church Canada (GMLC). The GMLC replaces the Ministerial Sexual Misconduct Policy and Procedure (MSMPP – 2016), the Addendum (2022) and portions of the A Shared Understanding of Church Leadership: Polity Manual for Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite Church USA. In the event that a conflict should arise between what is written between these two documents the GMLC shall be the policy for Mennonite Church Canada.
This policy is the culmination of a 3 year process which included extensive consultation with internal and external stakeholders. It is a policy that will continue to be shaped by ongoing review and revision as Mennonite Church Canada learns and assesses the efficacy and appropriateness of its current procedures.
The GMLC will change how Mennonite Church Canada works together, builds a community of accountability and speaks into our challenges and conflicts.
