Clifford the Big Red Dog in Rwanda
In the years following the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, local and international organizations started peacebuilding initiatives, hoping to repair the rift between ethnic groups that decades of colonial rule had deepened.
Many of these programs were focused on reaching adults. But some people, including a Quaker pastor named David Bucura, who lived through the genocide, believed it was important to also teach the next generation.
