The Gospel Revolution: Luke

The power of the Gospel of Luke lies in its repetition of themes: an upside-down kingdom, earthly riches versus heavenly riches, tending to physical needs, reaching the outcast, the letter of the law versus the spirit of the law, and the cost of commitment and discipleship. Sometimes referred to as "the social Gospel," Luke tells of Jesus' ministry of compassionate healing and teaching about justice. Jesus challenged his followers to minister to the oppressed, the outcast, those most in need of God's love. In other words, he called people to be gospel activists!
