Like an Everflowing Stream: Water, Faith, and Justice: 2005 Peace Sunday Packet

Water covers our planet and is one of the elements essential to survival. Water is also a wellspring of imagery in our faith experience. The Bible is overflowing with stories about crossing water, drawing from wells, drinking, washing, watering, and baptizing. As partners with God in caring for the Earth's resources, use Peace Sunday (and the activities surrounding it) as a time to consider how we can work together so that all God's children may have an adequate share of clean, life-giving water.

We are told that if we thirst for justice, we will be satisfied. But for thirst to be satisfied one must take action. Just as we go looking for water to drink, we must set out to seek justice in our world. Use the resources in this packet to inspire your congregation to thirst for justice so that it may flow abundantly and steadily for all.
