Where is Heaven?: Gospel of Matthew

What's heaven like? Where is it? Is it a place to go when you die? Who gets to go there? Will there be angels? The parables about the reign of God highlight the marks of heaven, and can help address such youth issues as whether there is an actual place called heaven, whether God uses death to punish people, attitudes about the afterlife, what people must do to enter the kingdom, and how grace is involved.

The Gospel of Matthew cannot answer the eternal question, "What will happen to me when I die?" It's more like, "What shall I do now to enter the kingdom of heaven?" This unit moves youth to ask this question first and find peace in that, having cared for the will of God as best they can in this life, God will care for them for all time and beyond.
