The study this quarter is a survey of the Old Testament. Its three units follow the history of God's covenant with the Hebrew people from Noah's day until after the return from exile.

The first 3 sessions explore God's covenants with Noah, Adam and with the people of Israel at Mount Sinai. The 4th session focuses on the people's renewal of the covenant, conducted on the edge of the Promised Land.

In the 2nd Unit, the first 2 sessions look at God's relationship to the people through judges in general and through Deborah in particular. The last 3 sessions explore God's covenant relationship with Samuel, David and Solomon.

In this 3rd Unit the 1st 2 sessions highlight the challenge of living in covenant by focusing on the efforts of Elijah and Josiah to keep the people faithful. Session 3 explores the exile as a consequence of breaking covenant with God. The final session ends on a word of hope as it examines the restored covenant relationship that God offered after the return from exile.
