A Christian Response to Terror
2001, 4 pp
A sermon preached by John P. Braun at the Charleswood Mennonite Church, Winnipeg, MB in 2001.
"Where is God when terror seems to have the upper hand? Where is God when everything we have every trusted in is caving in around us? I believe that when our turst in the false gods of violence, security, wealth and power collapse or blow apart, that God is among us offering us a faith in the One in whom all things hold together.
I believe that God is there when people feel and practise compassion for those who suffer... God is there when people mourn...We are not helpless. We are children of God. Life is not hopeless. Our hope is in Christ. Fear need not consume us, because love casts out fear and covers a multitude of sins..."
